A Legacy Reclaimed
For decades, enthusiasts knew the bold, stepped-case silhouette as the “Black Tie.” However, in a move that honors the timepiece’s most famous devotee, Piaget officially renamed the collection the Andy Warhol Watch.
This new “Collage” edition—strictly limited to just 50 pieces—is more than a tribute; it is a piece of wearable Pop Art. Cast in 18-carat yellow gold (a metal reserved exclusively for this edition as a nod to Warhol’s original 1973 watch), the timepiece serves as a canvas for the extraordinary.

Beyond the Soup Can: The “Collage” Dial
When tasked with interpreting Warhol’s vast catalog, Piaget’s Artistic Director, Stéphanie Sivrière, avoided the predictable. There are no bananas or soup cans here. Instead, the Maison looked toward Warhol’s 1986 Polaroid collage self-portraits—works that played with fragmented color and layered identity.
The dial is a masterclass in Métiers d’Art, featuring an intricate stone marquetry that “suggests rather than shows.”

The Palette: Hand-cut slivers of yellow Namibian serpentine, pink opal, and vibrant green chrysoprase are arranged in an abstract, rhythmic form.

“We wanted to express Warhol without being obvious,” says Sivrière. “The result stands on its own as a piece of watchmaking art—a collectible inspired by one of history’s most prolific collectors.”

While the face of the watch is a riot of artistic expression, the “engine room” remains quintessentially Piaget. Housed within the 45mm case is the in-house 501P1 self-winding mechanical calibre.
True to the Maison’s heritage of ultra-thin movements, this slimline power unit features circular Côtes de Genève finishing. Flip the watch over, and the yellow gold case back reveals a final intimate detail: a vertical satin-finish engraved with the very Warhol self-portrait that inspired the dial, alongside the artist’s unmistakable signature.
