Royal Trio Named Ambassadors for the London 2012 Olympic Games

The love of sport of Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate), and Prince Harry can be putted into an official role. The British royal trio have been named Olympic ambassadors for the London 2012 Games.

“Catherine, Harry and I are honored to be ambassadors for Team GB and Paralympics GB. London hosting the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will inspire so many people — particularly the young — to be the best they can be. We are hugely looking forward to this incredible sporting competition, but are also looking beyond next summer’s Games to the springboard it will provide for future success and excellence,”  said Prince William.

Princess Anne, William and Harry’s aunt was an accomplished equestrian and is the only member of the royal family to have competed in the Olympic Games.
British Olympic gold medal rower, Matthew Pinsent, welcomed the next generation of royal involvement in the Games.
