The Grand Tourista Scarf by Jason Wu

Istanbul has a robust demand for high-end hospitality from a new generation of global travelers. To celebrate the upcoming debut of the St. Regis Istanbul in February 2015, St. Regis luxury hospitality chain introduced The Grand Tourista Scarf by Jason Wu for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, an accessory for today’s sophisticated traveler.

“Istanbul is a city that offers endless inspiration; so I was thrilled to design a scarf collection for St. Regis that – at once — captures the vibrant energy of the locale and reflects both our brands’ classic yet modern aesthetic,” St. Regis Connoisseur Jason Wu says.

The Grand Tourista Scarf by Jason Wu for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is 100 percent silk twill with hand-rolled edges and features intricate geometric patterns in vibrant hues of blue, evocative of the ceramic tiles that cement the city’s design and architecture; beige, a softer neutral tone calling to mind the natural spices that fill Istanbul’s many bazaars; and grey, Wu’s signature color. Sophisticated, timeless and informed by the brand’s rich heritage, the collection of scarves captures the energy of one of the oldest cities in the world with a modern design.

Jason Wu x St. Regis partnership developed organically over the course of four years, when Wu showed his collection as a breakout designer at The St. Regis New York during S/S 2010 New York Fashion Week. Wu has attended many milestone events for the brand, including the grand opening of The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort.

Nestled in the sophisticated Nişantaşi neighborhood and surrounded by the Sisli district’s exclusive shops, The St. Regis Istanbul sits atop Maçka Park and boasts views of the Bosphorus, from which Wu took inspiration. The residential 118-room hotel is designed by award-winning Turkish architect Emre Arolat, channeling the glamour and spirit of 1920’s Turkey while incorporating a variety of contemporary art installations, including the Demsa Collection of Art.
