Objet d’art: Caran d’Ache x Lalique Limited Edition Crystal

 

Baselworld 2014 saw the launch of CARAN D’ACHE Limited Edition Crystal, an encounter between CARAN D’ACHE’s creativity and French luxury brand Lalique. The famed Coutard design which René Lalique imagined in 1935 was the starting point of the luxury pen crafted from white gold, black ceramic or white ceramic.Caran d’Ache has reproduced this iconic spray of water to bring forth the magic of exceptional objects.

The two luxury Manufacture offers three fine writing instruments variations, all produced in the Caran d’Ache workshops in Geneva. Each objet d’art is accompanied by an inkwell in satin crystal, especially created by Lalique. The renowned glassmaker’s signature completes this opus with a crystal cabochon that crowns each pen.

The limited edition of writing instruments resplendent in Lalique crystal comes in three variations:

 

CRYSTAL & DIAMONDS: This limited edition of 18 fountain pens brings together noble and precious materials in an alliance of light and shade. The droplets spread over the instrument in a cascade of some 340 diamonds of VS quality (almost 3 carats).

 
The BLACK CRYSTAL limited edition is named after the color of its ceramic body, embellished with the Coutard motif and a LALIQUE crystal cabochon. he droplets are applied in relief on the pen as if to punctuate its lines.

 

 
The WHITE CRYSTAL limited edition is named after the color of its ceramic body, embellished with the Coutard motif and a LALIQUE crystal cabochon. The White Crystal Edition’s clip is decorated with a diamond solitaire, a majestic seal to the pen’s natural elegance.
