Futuristic green skyscrapers to reduce 75% of Paris’ greenhouse gas emissions by 2050

2050 Paris Smart City by Vincent Callebaut Architectures.

2050 Paris Smart City” is a research and development project for Paris City Hall carried out by Vincent Callebaut Architectures. In order to fight against the urban heat-island phenomenon by increasing in the same time the density of the city in the long-term, the study presented 8 prototypes of mixed towers.

“These towers repatriate the nature in the heart of the city and integrate from their design the rules of bioclimatism and the renewable and recyclable energies in short loop through innovative systems. Turned to new social innovations, they invent first new eco-responsible ways of life to implement the quality of life of the city-dwellers in the respect of the environment,” explained Vincent Callebaut Architectures.

Take a look at the eight proposals of positive energy towers eco-conceived to fight global warming:

  • “PHOTOSYNTHESIS TOWERS”:

MODERN PARIS _ 15th district, MONTPARNASSE TOWER
A piezo-electrical and Central Park built in vertical spiral with organic facades of green algae.

  • “BRIDGE TOWERS”:

FUTURE PARIS _ 16th district, PONT AVAL / 12th district, _ PONT AMONT
Inhabited planted amphibian bridges across the Seine river upstream and downstream of Paris.

  • “BAMBOO NEST TOWERS”:

MODERN PARIS _ 13th district, MASSENA AREA
Thermodynamic garden towers planted by food gardens and orchards on balconies.

  • “HONEYCOMB TOWERS”:

PERIPHERAL PARIS _ 20th district, PORTE DES LILAS
A hive of honeycomb housing energetically connected.

  • “MOUNTAIN TOWERS”:

HISTORIC PARIS _ 1st district, RUE DE RIVOLI
Solar, hydrodynamic and planted towers bio-air conditioning the urban heat-island phenomenon.

  • “ANTISMOG TOWERS”:

HISTORIC PARIS _ 14th district
An ecologic corridor of 23 km in the heart of Paris punctuated by depolluting photo- catalytic towers.

  • “MANGROVE TOWERS”:

FUTURE PARIS _ 10th district, GARE DU NORD
Photosensitive towers ingrained on the piezo-electrical station platforms.

  • FARMSCRAPERS TOWERS”:

PERIPHERAL PARIS _ 19th district, PORTE D’AUBERVILLIERS
A vertical farm repatriating the countryside in the heart of the city.
