A Chopard jewellery for a mystery star at the Cannes Film Festival

At the opening ceremony of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Chopard, the event’s sponsor, will design a jewelled tribute to actress Marilyn Monroe, the icon of the upcoming 65th Cannes Film Festival. The identity of the lucky celebrity who will wear the one-off piece of jewellery will remain a secret until May 16.

Chopard is also planning an exhibition of 25 unpublished photographs of Monroe taken by US photographer Milton Greene during the festival.

A necklace of cascading heart-shaped diamonds and briolettes designed by Chopard’s co-president Caroline Scheufele has been conceived for “a glamorous woman as she glides up the famous red-carpeted staircase” according to The Telegraph.
